PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof surface characteristics measurement method and a roof surface characteristics measuring apparatus, enabling measurement of roof surface angle and the point of intersection, with less work and easily, and to reduce cost.;SOLUTION: The roof surface characteristics measuring apparatus 1 comprise a laser 4 for irradiating a pair of roof surfaces 12a, 12b with a light, a CCD 5 for receiving the light of the laser 4 reflected by the roof surfaces 12a, 12b and detecting its light-receiving position S, and a collimator lens 6 for making incident light collimated light. The collimator 6 is provided retractably to an optical path from the reflection by the roof surfaces 12a, 12b to the reception by the CCD 5. On the basis of the information on the light-receiving position S the roof surface angle θ and the point of intersection P of the roof surfaces 12a, 12b are measured, when there is the collimator lens 6 on the optical path and information on the light-receiving position S, when there is no collimator lens 6 on the optical path detected by the CCD 5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
