PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a geometric model creation method and system for creating a geometric model from geometric description data such as X-ray CT data wherein conventional various problems are solved to improve the usability.;SOLUTION: The geometric model creation method and system for creating the geometric model of an object from the geometric description data such as X-ray CT data obtained for the object include: a process wherein a virtual probe measuring means 105 performs measurement for the geometric description data by making a virtual probe defined as a region having a finite space in a virtual space in virtual description data sequentially scan a plurality of probe paths sequentially set by a probe path setting means 108 to obtain a characteristic value unique to a position of the virtual probe on the virtual space for each probe path, and a process wherein the probe path setting means creates new probe paths by using the characteristic value obtained for the probe path to sequentially set the plurality of probe paths.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
