PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-tea-based packaged beverage containing carbohydrate and catechin in high concentration, having no green-tea flavor, making a drinker hardly feel bitterness or astringency, hard to leave unfavorable aftertaste even after long preservation, suitable as an anti-thirst beverage drunk when requiring water during playing sport in particular, and excellent in color tone stability while being packaged in a oxygen-permeable transparent container.;SOLUTION: The non-tea-based packaged beverage contains nonpolymer catechins in its solid content, and, is formulated with a green tea extract having a content weight ratio of oxalic acid (B) to nonpolymer catechins (A) [(B)/(A)] of 0-0.002. It contains the following ingredients (A)-(D): (A) 0.03-0.6 wt.% of the nonpolymer catechins; (B) oxalic acid or its salt in a weight ratio of the ingredient (B)/the ingredient (A) of 0-0.02; (C) caffein in a weight ratio of the ingredient (C)/ingredient (A) of 0-0.16; and (D) 0.001-15 wt.% of carbohydrate in terms of fructose, and 0-0.05 wt.% in terms of glucose.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
