PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-swellable rubber composition for vulcanization having an improved temporal stability of water swellability, and providing an improved compression set properties.;SOLUTION: The composition for the vulcanization comprises 100 pts. wt. of rubber component comprising (A) 10-90 pts. wt. epichlorohydrin-based polymer rubber having 70-95 mol% ethylene oxide component, 5-30 mol% epichlorohydrin component and 0-10 mol% allyl glycidyl ether component and (B) 10-90 pts. wt. styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), (C) 0.1-30 pts. wt. magnesium oxide, (D) 0.1-3 pts. wt. sulfenamide-based compound, (E) 0.01-5 pts. wt. sulfur and/or active sulfur-releasing type organic vulcanization accelerator, (F) 0.1-5 pts. wt. thiourea-based compound and optionally (G) 5-200 pts. wt. water-absorbing material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
