PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant Al-based alloy which is lightweight, and has superior high-temperature toughness, abrasion resistance, and high-temperature fatigue properties besides.;SOLUTION: The Al-based alloy has a structure comprising an intermetallic compound phase of 50 to 90% by a volume fraction and the balance being a metallic Al matrix. Intermetallic compounds constituting the intermetallic compound phase have an average size of 7 μm or smaller, and 50% or more of intermetallic compounds having a particle diameter of 0.5 μm or larger existing in a visual field have such a shape as to make a relationship L2/S between the area S and peripheral length L of the intermetallic compound satisfy 13 or more, and have an uneven geometry on their surfaces.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
