PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant Al-based alloy which is lightweight, has higher hot strength (heat resistance), and has superior high-temperature fatigue properties and vibration-damping properties as well.;SOLUTION: This Al-based alloy is a Cr-Fe-Ti-based Al-based alloy produced by a rapid solidification process; and has a structure comprising an intermetallic compound phase of 50 to 90% by a volume fraction, and a metallic Al matrix. In the intermetallic compound phase, the ratio of the intermetallic compounds having a size of 0.1 μm or larger to the total content of Al in the component composition is controlled so that the ratio (total Al quantity/total Al content) is 0.75 or less, where the total Al quantity is defined as the total Al quantity in intermetallic compounds having a size of 0.1 μm or larger in the intermetallic compound phase, and is considered to be the total Al quantity in residual solids having a size of 0.1 μm or larger, which have been separated/extracted from the Al-based alloy by a residue-extracting technique with the use of hot phenol.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
