PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately decide a region to be subjected to picture processing.;SOLUTION: A region decision apparatus 40 includes: a camera 42 image-picking up with at least two types of magnification an object group 90 located in the image-picking up axial direction; and a base stand 46 involving: controlling the camera 42 to image-pick up with low magnification the object group 90; calculating the position and size of an object B94 indicated by a low-magnification picture photographed with the camera 42; deciding high magnification based on the size of the object B94; controlling an image pick up means to image-pick up with the high magnification the object group 90; and deciding a region indicating the object B94 image-picked up with the camera 42 and located on the high-magnification picture so that the region may comply with the self-calculated position and size, and the high magnification.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
