PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forward and backward rotation stepping motor driven by using a pulse control method that is generally used, and achieving a high torque.;SOLUTION: The forward and backward stepping motor is provided with a rotational body 5 having a rotational shaft 1 and a permanent magnet 3 fixed to the rotational shaft, a yoke 7 formed from a magnetic material, and first and second coil cores 15, 21 formed from a magnetic material. The yoke has first, second, and third magnetic poles 9, 11, 13. One end of the first coil core is magnetically coupled to the first magnetic pole. The other end is magnetically coupled to the third magnetic pole. One end of the second coil core is magnetically coupled to the second magnetic pole. The other end is magnetically coupled to the third magnetic pole. The rotational body is rotatably held by a hole 29 for the rotational body provided in a portion of the yoke. The forward and backward stepping motor is driven by controlling a voltage pulse. A plurality of coils are wound on the first, second, and third coil cores.
