PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact/release mechanism for a roll pair for an image forming device, capable of greatly reducing impact vibration noise at nipping time while composing the mechanism as a simple and low-cost one.;SOLUTION: This device is provided with a drive roll 2 driven to be normally and inversely rotatable, and a contact/release roll 3 to get in contact with the drive roll 2 in a prescribed case to form a contact part. When the contact/release roll 3 transfers from a release state to a contact state to the drive roll 2, contact surface between the drive roll 2 and the contact/release roll 3 for forming the contact part gradually get in contact with each other in the axial direction, with time difference.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
