PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve earthquake resistance neither enlarging the cross sections of a damper and a reinforced concrete frame nor arranging a costly intermediate beam. ;SOLUTION: The lower part structure of a viaduct is mostly composed of a reinforced concrete rigid frame 4 comprising a pair of columns 2, 2 of bridge pier shape erected in the mutually opposed positions, and a beam 3 laid across the top parts of the columns; and a damper mechanism 5 arranged within the structure plane of the reinforced concrete rigid frame. The damper mechanism 5 is composed of a history damping type shearing damper 6 serving as a vertical displacement damper, and a pair of triangular wall bodies 9, 9 respectively jointed at the apexes to both sides so as to hold the vertical displacement damper in between. Side edge parts corresponding to the bases of the respective triangular wall bodies are jointed to a pair of columns 2, 2 respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
