PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for introducing a drug by which the drug can selectively be introduced into a specific cell with an inexpensive apparatus and to provide the apparatus for introducing the drug.;SOLUTION: The drug such as a therapeutic gene is injected into a biological tissue with a syringe to localize the drug near the cell into which the drug is to be introduced. A pigment (e.g. hemoglobin) as a target near the cell is irradiated with laser beams at ≥100 ps pulse width to thereby introduce the drug into the cell. The laser pulse is selectively absorbed with the pigment (linear absorption) to induce a temperature rise and a pressure wave (a thermoelastic wave).
