PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent monomer compound and a fluorescence sensor substance each high in the ability to detect saccharides including glucose, and to provide a sensor for assaying saccharides using the fluorescence sensor substance.;SOLUTION: The fluorescent monomer compound is such that a hydrophilic group is introduced into a hydrophobic site emitting fluorescence on coupling with a saccharide. The fluorescence sensor substance is obtained by copolymerization of the fluorescent monomer compound with a (meth)acrylamide residue-bearing polymerizable monomer. For the fluorescence sensor substance, the ability to couple with a saccharide is improved by the above-mentioned hydrophilic group introduction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
