PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To successively feed document loaded in one document tray from the highest one or from the lowest one. ;SOLUTION: In the mode to successively feed document from the highest one (transmission mode), a shutter member 108 is set at the position where an inclined part 108a is projected in a passage. When an upper feed roller 102 lowered to the position indicated by the broken line in the figure is rotated, the bundle of the document is collided with an inclined surface of the inclined part 108a in a condition where the tip of the highest document is preceded, and pre-separated the upstream side of a separation nip of a document separation device 109. In a mode where the originals are fed successively form the lowest document (copy mode), the shutter member 108 is set at the position where the inclined part 108a is depressed outside the passage. When a lower feed roller 108a is rotated, the bundle of the originals is collided with the inclined surface of an upper guide member 114 before separation in a condition where the tip of the lower document is preceded, and pre-separated on the upstream side of the separation nip.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
