PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capital letter recognizing device, a capital letter recognizing method and a capital letter recognizing program for improving the character recognition rate of a document constituted of handwritten characters.;SOLUTION: A portable information terminal 2 used by a specified individual for storing a result recognized for the on-line handwritten input of the individual as storage information and a server 4 are configured to perform communication at predetermined timing, and the storage information is uploaded from the portable information terminal 2 to the server 4. Then, individual dictionaries 41A and 41B are prepared from the storage information by an individual recognition result registering part 40, and when the handwritten section of an original inputted by an off-line character input part 46 is recognized, an individual dictionary 41 and a group dictionary 44 to be used are decided based on individual identification information(name) on the original, and off-line recognition is performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
