PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument and an explanation method that are used when an explainer offers consultation or explanation concerning financial products, such as insurance or life planning, to a customer, enabling the explainer to plainly explain the content of an explanation object and helping the customer's full understanding and independent judgement.;SOLUTION: The instrument is used for explaining financial products or life planning as an explanation object and is composed of a block set 10, comprising a plurality of blocks in various types and having shapes corresponding to the components of the explanation object, and a case 2 for storing the blocks. The block has a shape which includes a plane, representing the relation between time and money constituting the components of the explanation object. Selective combination and arrangement on the reference plane of the blocks carried out by the explainer or the customer realizes spatial expression of the object of explanation.
