PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate propagation path characteristics in a wider band in a radio communication system which performs frequency hopping.;SOLUTION: On the transmitting side, the phase values of carriers of each frequency to be used for the hopping are aligned to a known value at transmission starting time, and the transmission signals of each hopping to be obtained by performing frequency conversion are transmitted. On the receiving side, the phase values of the carriers of frequencies to be used for each hopping are adjusted at receiving starting time and the frequency conversion is performed for each receiving signal.
