PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately estimate a colorimetric value of an object to estimate color reproducibility under a desired illumination light source. PSOLUTION: Image data of a color chip is acquired in the case of inputting a standard plate with color chips of different spectral reflectance arranged thereon on the same image input conditions as an object to estimate color reproducibility, and optimization is applied using a dependent variable obtained by extracting a sensor response value corresponding to each color chip from the image data and an independent variable created from the spectral reflectance of each color chip and a basis function representing the spectral reflectance in linear combination of specific dimension. A conversion coefficient is then created for converting a coefficient for the basis function that represents the spectral reflectance of the object in the linear combination of the specific dimension into a sensor response value of an image input apparatus, and candidates of the spectral reflectance corresponding to the sensor response value are calculated based on the conversion coefficient and the basis function representing the spectral reflectance of the object in the linear combination of the specific dimension.
