PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-street parking fee collecting method and device capable of greatly reducing the cost for equipment cost, improving convenience for users, and connected to great increase in profits of public institutions.;SOLUTION: A money settlable card 6, for example, a prepaid card or an IC card is inserted in an on-vehicle device 4 having a microcomputer, when a behavior sensor 8 senses the stop in on-street parking, a CPU 10 turns on displays of charge display means 7 and on-street parking display means 11 a prescribed time later, and makes counter means 12 start the counting of the parking time, and when the behavior sensor senses the traveling of the vehicle, it stops the displays of the charge display means 7 and the on-street parking display means 11 and settles the on-street parking fee corresponding to the parting time to the card 6.
