PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic tracking device in which each photography position can be differentiated from the view point of movement detection, abnormality detection can be carried out efficiently, and application of undue load onto the device can be prevented. PSOLUTION: The automatic tracking device has a patrol mode 400 and a tracking mode 500. The patrol mode 400 is a mode performing preset patrol for controlling a camera section 100 to pan, tilt and zoom values corresponding to a preset number in the order of patrol number, and patrol judgment processing 410, 420,..., 430 is performed in this mode. In each patrol judgment processing, preset patrol information of a corresponding preset is referred and based on the priority of that patrol information (shown on fig. 3(b)), a decision is made whether camera control (control for the camera section 100 based on the preset information) is performed or not.
