METHOD FOR ESTIMATING POSITION AND DIRECTION OF CURRENT DIPOLE, AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING ACTIVE SECTION OF BRAIN USING THE SAME

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that validity about the position and direction of a current dipole is not high in the conventional method for estimating an active section of the brain though the method is simple. PSOLUTION: By estimating the active section of the brain by limiting beforehand an area and direction where the current dipole is to be present by using MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) data of the brain, the position of the current dipole can precisely and efficiently be estimated. By using the method for estimating the position and direction of the current dipole, the active section of the brain can precisely be estimated. Since the three-dimensional outline of the brain is extracted by using the MRI data of the brain, the current dipole proper to the shape of an individual brain can be estimated.
