PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weld metal for a welded structure excellent in brittle fracture propagation resistance, even if brittle cracks are generated on a welded joint, which can prevent the propagation of the brittle cracks in a repair weld zone, and can prevent the fatal fracture of the welded structure, to provide a construction method therefor, and to provide the welded structure.;SOLUTION: The weld metal for a welded structure excellent in brittle fracture propagation resistance prevents the propagation of brittle cracks generated on a butt welded joint. The weld metal is multilayer-welded at the tip parts of the butt welded joint or the intermediate part thereof on a part or over the whole region in the sheet thickness of the base metal. In the chemical components of the weld metal, the content of Ni is ≥2.5 mass%, and also, the residual stress σR in the weld metal satisfies inequality 1: σR≤-0.5*Yp.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
