PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a health check method to perform health check for a target device by exchanging a command between a host device and the device as an object for monitoring trouble. PSOLUTION: In the health check method to be disclosed, a CPU 2 performs the health check for a DSP 3 at a designated interval, if a primitive is generated by an SW 1 to the DSP 3, the CPU 2 converts it into the command and transmits to the DSP 3, in a system in which the primitive corresponding to a response command is sent back to the SW 1 in receiving the response command from the DSP 3, the CPU 2 turns a command transmission flag ON in transmitting the command, if the transmission flag turns out to be OFF through a check at the designated interval, data for the health check is transmitted to the DSP 3 and a health check time is started up, when a time-out on a command timer or the health check timer and no response of the data for the health check is received from the DSP 3, health check failure is notified to the SW 1.
