PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stainless steel excellent in temper coloring resistance which can suppress or inhibit temper coloring without deteriorating metallic appearance of its surface and bending workability.;SOLUTION: The surface of the stainless steel is coated with an oxide layer which comprises a silica compound and has a thickness of ≤1 μm. In the oxide layer, at least one chosen from a ceramic powder, a metal powder and a mineral powder is dispersed in a volume ratio of ≤10% to impart the temper coloring resistance as well as scratch resistance and antibacterial property and to enable surface coloring.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
