PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery incorrect insertion prevention mechanism in which the insertion of the battery is prevented and breakage of a battery holder and the battery or the like is prevented before the battery is inserted deep into the battery holder in case the battery is inserted into the battery holder in an incorrect insertion direction other than normal insertion direction. PSOLUTION: This is the battery incorrect insertion prevention mechanism 10 to prevent the battery 11 from being inserted into other direction except the normal insertion direction in inserting the battery 11 into the battery holder 14, and is provided with: a recess or a protruding part 13 installed at the outer wall of the battery; a determining means 17 to determine whether the insertion direction of the battery 11 is normal or not based on detection of with or without of the recess or the protruding part 13 of the battery to be inserted; a battery insertion prevention means 17 which is protrudingly installed in the battery holder 14 and which prevents the insertion of the battery 11; and an actuation regulating means 18 to regulate the actuation of the battery insertion prevention means 17 only in the case the determining means 17 determines that the insertion of the battery 11 has been normal.
