PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve arrangement precision of a core region and a hollow part of microstructure optical fiber manufactured from microstructure optical fiber preform by precisely performing layered arrangement of glass rods of the microstructure optical fiber preform and glass pipes surrounding them.;SOLUTION: A jig for arrangement 1 is constituted of a disk part 2, a glass rod arranging part 2a at a center of one surface thereof and a plurality of acicular parts 3 which are arranged in layers on a circumference at equal spaces so as to surround the glass rod arranging part 2a and which are fixed on the surface of the disk part 2 by being erectly stood. The glass rod 5 is set upright at a center of the disk part 2 by using one or two jigs for arrangement 1, the acicular parts 3 are respectively inserted into holes 4a of the plural glass pipes 4 from one side or both sides thereof and are held to form a bundle of glass pipes 4. Then, the bundle of the glass pipes 4 are covered with an outer peripheral glass pipe 6 and thereafter the jig for arrangement 1 is drawn off, both end faces of the outer peripheral glass pipe 6 are sealed with a glass sealing member 7 to manufacture the microstructure optical fiber preform 8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
