PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to stop discharge between both terminal pins even in the case where such a high voltage as lighting is applied to a photocoupler by a method wherein the whole outer surfaces of the terminal pins made to project from the package part of the photocoupler are covered with an electrically insulating material. ;SOLUTION: Terminal pins 12 and 13 are made to project from a package part 15 to secure the points of the pins 12 and 13 to a circuit board 11 by solderings 14 and a photocoupler 5 is mounted to the board 11. Filling holes 16 are formed in the board 11 and a case 17 is made to cover on the photocoupler 5 in such a way as to build the photocoupler 5 therein and is bonded to the board 11. The board 11 is installed in such a way that the photocoupler 5 and the case 17 are positioned on the side of the lower part of the board 11, an electrically insulating material 20 is flowed in the case 17 through the holes 16 to fill the whole space in the case 17, the filling hole parts 16 is filled with the material in such a way as to cover the upper surface of the package part 15. When the material 20 is cured, the package part 15 of the photocoupler 5 and the pins 12 and 13 made to project from the package part 15 are covered with the material 20 in a state that the package part 15 and the pins 12 and 13 are buried in the material 20 without being exposed to the outside.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
