PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular measuring instrument for performing smooth display operation by preventing intermittent operation of a display means, and to provide its driving method.;SOLUTION: A latch timing generating means inputs cyclic data between effective edges to be travel information for a vehicle as digital signals via a serial transfer cable (a serial transfer path) 2 and executes the processing of generating a latch timing to obtain display data for operation of a drive body (the display means) 12 when the cyclic data is changed. A travel information converting means converts the cyclic data into the display data at the latch timing obtained by the latch timing generating means and executes the processing of outputting the display data to the drive body 12.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
