Rational design and synthesis of functional glycopeptides

The present invention provides a glycopeptide in which glutamine of a biologically active form of peptide having glutamine in at least one amino acid residue is modified with a sugar chain. Furthermore, the present invention provides a functional sugar comprising the following steps: A) providing a target peptide containing glutamine in at least one amino acid residue; and B) introducing a sugar chain into the glutamine. A method for preparing a peptide is provided. This makes it possible to significantly enhance or regulate biological activity.
