PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold clamping device which can measure mold clamping force exactly without using a sensor such as a load meter for directly detecting the deformation quantity of a tie-bar in the mold clamping device. ;SOLUTION: The first position of a link housing 27 on a base 30 while a movable mold 25 is moved in the mold closing direction from a prescribed mold opening position, and mold clamping force is not generated and the second position of the link housing 27 on the base 30 with mold clamping completed are detected, the mold clamping force is calculated on the basis of the difference between the detected first and second positions, and a correction quantity for correcting the position of the link housing 27 is outputted to a device for adjusting the position of the link housing 27 so that the mold clamping force is target mold clamping force.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
