PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately print or to provide an appropriate printing quality by preventing or reducing over-decurling.;SOLUTION: This decurler 2 forms a curled state in roll paper P by a pinch roller 37 and an auxiliary roller 47. The pinch roller 37 comprises a drive roller 33, and a driven roller 35 planetarily turning relative to the drive roller 33 and the over-decurling can be reduced by displaying the driven roller 35. Or, the over-decurling in the tip part of the roll paper can be reduced by enhancing the speed when the tip part of the roll paper P passes through the auxiliary roller 47 more than the speed when a part subsequent to the tip part of the roll paper P passes through the auxiliary roller 47.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
