PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection method of a plastic insulating power cable and a diameter expanding support pipe that reduce a connection work space and at the same time have no risk in terms of the quality surface of a connection section.;SOLUTION: In a connection method of a form for performing the shrinking of a rubber insulating cylinder whose diameter has been expanded in advance before execution onto the conductor connection section of a powder cable, the diameter expanding support pipe can be divided into at least two portions in the longitudinal direction when the diameter expanding support pipe is to be pulled.
