PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a folding portable talking unit in which variation in sound quality is suppressed between folded state and unfolded state of the case.;SOLUTION: In the portable talking unit where a case 3 provided with a receiver section 33 and a display section 34 and a case 2 provided with a transmitting section 14 and a key input section 5 are coupled rotatably through a hinge 4 and folded by rotating about the hinge 4, a speaker for sounding a termination tone is disposed in the case 2, and a sound hole 13 for delivering a ringing tone is made at the hinge coupling part 50 of the case 2. Consequently, the sound hole 13 is located at a lower part of the display section 34 when the case 3 is opened, and the sound hole 13 is located at the coupling part 50 of the case 3 and the case 2 on the back side of the unit when the case 3 is closed. Variation in sound quality is thereby suppressed between folded state and unfolded state of the case.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
