PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate detection even in a dark celestial body of which the motion is unknown.;SOLUTION: This detector is provided with: an image pick-up means 1 for imaging a celestial spherical area in every prescribed time; a bright celestial sphere detecting means 2 for detecting a picture element having a brightness value exceeding a prescribed bright celestial body detecting threshold value, where the brightness value gets maximum locally as the bright celestial body; a bright celestial body masking means 3 for converting the brightness values of the plurality of picture elements containing the picture element of the bright celestial body into a prescribed brightness value and for masking the bright celestial body from an image; a dark celestial body intensifying means 4 for converting the brightness value of the each picture element in the image into the maximum value within a prescribed set in the each picture element to feed the converted image back, and for adding it to an image imaged after the lapse of a prescribed time counted from the image pick-up of the image and output from the masking means 3 to intensify the dark celestial body; and a dark celestial body detecting means 5 for detecting the picture element having a brightness value exceeding a dark celestial body detecting threshold value, where the brightness value gets maximum locally as the dark celestial body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
