PURPOSE: To obtain a polymer alloy which can give a food packaging container excellent in heat resistance, hot water resistance, etc., under specified sterilization conditions by blending a copolyester resin with a polycarbonate resin. ;CONSTITUTION: This polymer alloy comprises a copolyester resin and a polycarbonate resin. The copolyester resin has a solubility parameter [defined by the formula (wherein Δei is the evaporation energy of each atom or each group of atms; and Δvi is its molar vol.)] of 10.8-11.9 and is produced from an acid component comprising 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and terephtalic acid or their lower-alkyl esters and a glycol component comprising 1,4- cyclohexanedimethanol and ethylene glycol. The polymer alloy, when molded by a suitable method, gives a food packaging container exhibiting excellent resistances to heat, hot water, and cold impact under thermal sterilization conditions of 85°C×30min and having sufficient gas barrier properties.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
