PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dense, high-quality titania nano-sheet the thickness of which is controlled on a nanometer level by a simple means, to eminently reduce time and expense, and to form an ultra-thin titania sheet which can correspond to an object with a complex shape.;SOLUTION: By a process in which a substrate is immersed in a cationic organic polymer solution to adsorb the organic polymer on the surface of the substrate and immersed in a nano-sheet colloidal solution with flaky particles suspended, the flaky particles are adsorbed in a self-assembling manner on the substrate by an electrostatic action. After that, the substrate is subjected to ultrasonic treatment in an alkaline aqueous solution.
