PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jack for adjusting erection of columns and a method for erecting steel frame columns and beams that can ensure the quality of steel frame building by rectifying the deviation of span between columns and the shrinkage in the direction of the span caused by welding the junctions between columns and beams, and avoiding the residual stress that generates in the steel fame columns and beams.;SOLUTION: The jack for adjusting the erection of columns 1 is equipped with an structure frame 2 that is provided with at least a buckling prevention member and, on one end of an structure frame 2, a column retaining member 3, which is constructed by connecting as one united body by jack 13 a depressing mechanism 8 that connects to a chord member 6 located between horizontal members 5, 5 on both sides that constitutes the structure frame 2 and pushes back the column and a tensile mechanism 9 that is connected to an end part of the horizontal member 5 on both sides that constitutes the structure frame 2 and holds and drags the column.
