PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage to an engine by suppressing detonation of a two-cycle internal combustion engine. ;SOLUTION: A section from a top dead center and to the 45° after top dead center of the engine is defined as a determination section θx. A peak position θpn of angular acceleration dω/dt of a crank shaft generated in the determination section when the engine normally combusts is obtained in advance as a determination reference position. The peak position of the angular acceleration generated in the above determination section is detected as a peak position θpx for determination. When the peak position θpx for determination is advanced in relation the determination reference position θpn, it is determined that detonation is generated. When generation of detonation is detected, an ignition position is lagged to suppress detonation, and then fuel supply is increased to recover output torque.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
