The present invention relates to egg yolk antibody (IgY) immunoconjugates, their preparation and application in diagnostics and therapies. It is an object of the present invention to propose alternative products to conventional immunoconjugates for use in diagnostics and therapies. Immunoconjugates according to the present invention are superior to mammalian monoclonal and immunosorbent antibodies, as well as to conventional chicken-derived IgY compounds with respect to antigen purity and targeting. The manufacture of human anti-IgY antibodies should be avoided if possible, and immunoconjugates should be manufactured in a cost-effective manner in a manner that does justice to animal protection standards and in large quantities. In accordance with the present invention, said object is achieved by polyclonal IgY conjugates from intact egg yolk antibodies (IgY), IgY fragments, Fab constructs or humanized egg yolk antibodies from SPF chickens, preferably of transgenic SPF chickens. The antigens or antigen fragments should be conjugated as an immunologically effective component with at least one additional component which may be a signaling agent, an active agent or a enhancer molecule.
