The apparatus comprises a vessel (11) for receiving the driver (1) and a nozzle (13) for directing fluid against it. An apparatus for cleaning components comprises a vessel for receiving the components and at least one nozzle for directing a cleaning fluid against them. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) cleaning a driver for a nuclear reactor control rod, the driver comprising a transmission screw (2) which rotates about the driver length axis, a piston tube (4) for moving along the length of the screw and designed to be secured to the control rod and a guide tube (5) for guiding the piston tube as it is moved along the screw, in which the driver is placed inside a vessel and then a fluid is sprayed against the outside of it; and (2) a service installation for a driver for a nuclear reactor control rod, comprising a first cleaning apparatus as described above for receiving the driver and a second cleaning apparatus as described above for receiving the guide tube in the driver.
