Power supply to utilities is currently carried out through a system of switching, wherein the grounding line is not switched-off along with the phase lines~ i.e.~ the grounding line is common for all utilities~ consequent to which this can affect instruments which are otherwise switched-off. In this circuit if one equipment becomes defective. all the equipment in the: circuit are affected. This current practice of two pole switching system is proposed to be upgraded by replacing it with a three pole switching system, particularly in single~phase circuits for safety purposes. '"fhis is achieved by providing an additional individual earthing to each equipm ent, consequently, a Double Pole switch becom es a Triple Pole Double Throw switch.
