This method described the estimation of different monomers of tannin in faeces and urine or cows. Animals were supplemented with two types of concentrate containing 0 and 4 per cent tannin (DM basis) from Acacia nilotica pods. Faeces and urine samples were collected after a preliminary feeding of two and half months period and were processed for estimation of degraded products of tannin from Acacia nilotica pods. Phloroglucinol, gallic acid and catechine were identified and quantified in the faeces and the values were 4.74, 0.45 and 0.71ug/g tannin respectively, where as in the urine of cows phloroglucinol, gallic acid, resorcinol, catechin, epicatechin and catechin gallate were identified and quantified and the values were 268.0, 100, 610, 60.0, 80 and 206.0 ug/g tannin respectively.
