It is intended to provide preventives for ascites containing coenzyme Q which can exert a sufficient effect of preventing ascites even in case of administering in a small dose within a short period of time, and ascites preventives which can be effectively administered to poultry by a convenient method. Namely, ascites preventives for poultry containing coenzyme Q and a surfactant, wherein the content of the surfactant ranges from 0.5 to 80 parts by weight based on the whole preventives.
