The invention relates to the structure, preparation methods and chemical composition of two structural formulations of bivalent vaccines against addiction to morphine/heroin (mor-phinc-6-hcmisuccinyl-UDC-TrCS-tctanic toxoid and 3-0-carboxymcthylmor-phine-RDC-TPCS-telanic toxoid), which are suitable for use in human vaccination and which can induce the synthesis of polyclonal antibodies against said addictive opiate and the structural analogue thereof (heroin), with the repeated in vivo administration of same in an active vaccination scheme in preclinical phase studies in relation to the rodent animal model. The invention also relates to the active vaccination paradigm with the aforementioned immunogens, which can induce a humoral immune response which has high liters of specific antibodies and which is consolidated in long-term memory against said two drugs. In addition, the invention outlines the way in which the aforementioned chemical immunogen compositions can provide effective im munoprotection against addiction to morphine and the highly-addictive structural congener thereof (heroin) In the pharmacological model relating to addictive intravenous self-administration of said two opiates in rodents. Finally, the Invention relates to the therapeutic Implications of the possible later use of said immunoconjugates in active vaccination schemes for the treatment of addiction to said two drugs in humans.
