The present invention is useful in the paediatric orthopaedic field; more particularly it refers to devices and accessories used in orthopaedic treatments of bones. The invention mainly refers to an abduction apparatus for correcting infant hip dysplasia, which is characterized in that it comprises abducting bars joined therebetween, thereby forming an adjustable longitudinal section to be transversally placed in the infant's crotch area, thus fitting femurs that are in a coupling position with the acetabula. Said bars further include angled outer edges where adjustable diameter braces are fixed, the braces being useful for supporting muscles in order to maintain the infant's lower members in a human position. The invention also has a front portion and a back portion fixed by extensions located at the outer edges of the bars in close proximity to the braces joints; the adjustable straps supporting the device from the infant's shoulders are cross-extended from the back portion to the f ront portion passing by the shoulders; the apparatus further comprises an adjustable belt fixed either to the front portion or to the back portion, said belt extending around the infant's waist and being fastened therefrom for ensuring the apparatus to be suitably positioned.
