The reactor (13) includes a lead-through (15) for a beam of light (16) and the light source (17) is positioned relative to the reactor so that the beam is generated on the opposite side of the lead-through to the dispersion. A device for determining the optical properties of a dispersion comprises at least one reactor for holding the dispersion, at least one light source for shining light onto at least some of the dispersion particles and a means (19) for recording the optical properties of the illuminated particles. The reactor includes at least one lead-through for a beam of light generated by the light source. The position of the light source relative to the reactor is chosen so that the beam is generated on the opposite side of the lead-through to the dispersion. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating a microscopic image of a dispersion using this device.
