The receiver has an attenuator to receive and attenuate a radio frequency signal with inband signals and an inter-band signal. A signal-to-noise ratio adjuster (230) measures a signal-to-noise ratio of the inband signals of a desired channel of a signal output from the amplifier. Automatic gain controller detectors (235, 237) control the attenuator to attenuate the radio frequency signal based on the measured ratio. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a tuner to select a desired broadcasting signal of a digital television broadcasting signal comprising a radio frequency receiver (B) a radio frequency receiving method.
