The system comprises a closed loop for circulating hot water supplied from the central heating boiler (1) via a circulation pump (4). A level sensor (17) is used to measure the height of the snow on the roof and once a height of at least 1 cm is reached, a sensor is sent to a control box (16), which in turn sends signals to the boiler and pump in order for hot water to be circulated through a heat exchanger (7) linking the central heating system (primary system) with the secondary heating system for the roof. This secondary system contains a circulating mixture of water and glycol.
