METHOD FOR DETERMINING ULTIMATE STRENGTH OF WOOD IN CUTTING ACROSS THE WOOD GRAINS

The proposed method for determining ultimate strength of wood in cutting across the wood grains is distinctive by using a device with a movable cutter and a fixed cutter. The cutter blades have rhombic slots with dimensions that are equal to the dimensions of the wood specimens. The wood specimen is installed in the opening that is formed by matching the said slots in the cutter blades. The cutting of the specimen is accomplished by the force that is applied to the movable cutter.
