DEVICE FOR SHREDDING PLANT AND STUBBLE REMAINS (A MULCHER)

A device for shredding plant and stubble remains (a mulcher) contains a frame with a drum with working knives and a horizontal rotational axis and a mechanism to drive the drum in rotation which are placed thereon. The device is provided with an additional drum with working knives and horizontal rotational axis, connected with the first drum with the aid of a chain-drive. The working knives on the first drum are made as L-like demountable plates, the bent part of which has a reinforcement and two-side sharpening of the cutting edges. The knives on the additional drum are made as rectilinear plates with sharpening and reinforcement of the cutting edges or without these. The working knives on the first drum are attached thereto immovably, and the working knives on the additional drum are attached thereto hingedly. The working knives, made as L-like plates, have an internal rigid crosspiece connecting the bent areas of the knife between each other. On the rear transversal bar of the frame a comb, made as a set of vertical bent plates, the distance between which corresponds to the maximum tolerable size of the shredded remains of plant origin, is installed.
