Machine tool arrangement with industrial robot and scanner, compares measured points on object with those on reference object to program robot
A memory module (5) stores information relating to the surface of a reference object. A processor module (4) calculates deviations between a number of points measured on the surface of the object (7) to be machined and the same points on the reference object surface, uses this information to determine the machining paths for the object and to determine the direction and speed of the machine tool (6) and sends positioning instructions to the robot axles based on this paths, direction and speed information in order to program the robot. The scanner is used to measure a number of points on the object surface.
